A person’s final words just prior to dying, or as death approaches, are generally very significant. So imagine how significant the last words of Jesus must be. The last words of Jesus provide a way to understand what was ultimately important to the God-Man who died on a cross. One theologian suggests His last words are words of forgiveness, salvation, relationship, abandonment, distress, triumph and reunion.
